Artificial intelligence (AI)

Mostly when this term is heard, the first that comes to a person’s mind is robots and other machines like creatures. The reason for this is the films and novels, which have explained the concept of artificial intelligence in this way.

Artificial intelligence (AI) basically is that machines have been programmed in such a way due to which they are able to think like humans and also can copy human actions.

Like any other thing in this world, artificial intelligence comes with abundant perks and drawbacks.

Benefits of Artificial Intelligence.

Error-free

Humans error is a term invented because humans are not programmed properly and can make mistakes sometimes. This is not the case with artificial intelligence, as they are properly programmed and are tested several times before they are ready to fully operate. Thus with artificial intelligence, we can get results that are highly précised and accurate.

An example of the accuracy of artificial intelligence can be viewed in the weather forecasting department.

Cross limitation

A big advance of artificial intelligence is that they could help humans by carrying out extremely risky tasks such as going on an unknown planet, visiting deepest parts of the oceans, mining for minerals, and many other tasks. Thus we humans can get extremely useful information, which would not be possible without the existence of Artificial Intelligence.

No rest breaks

Humans on average can work for about 4-5 hours nonstop, after which they would require some sort of relaxation or else they will not be able to function in a correct manner. This is unlikely to happen with Artificial Intelligence as they have no sort of emotions due to which they would not get bored and also do not need any sort of relaxation or nutrition and can work 24/ effectively.

Drawbacks of Artificial Intelligence

Expensive

As these are the initial days of Artificial Intelligence, it can prove to be extremely costly in building such an automated system as it comes with a lot of needs such as repairing and maintenance and require updates in software and hardware, so that they could become more advanced than before

Reduction in jobs for humans

Many organizations are wanting to remove most of their staff with robots and other Artificial Intelligence systems as these do not require any salary or holidays and carry out error-free tasks. If this step is taken then many people will be fired from their posts, which could lead to a massive increase in crime rate globally.

No Thinking

Although machines can carry out tasks faster and smoothly than humans but still they cannot think like us and would not be able to provide fresh ideas to a company.

Bottom line

All in all, Artificial Intelligence is not in a very developed stage at the moment, but once it is then it only depends on us humans that if we can use such a technology for our benefits or would we lead ourselves to destruction.
