To err is to human and to forgive is to be a greater human…
As humans, we all make mistakes. Elders say it’s a part of the learning process that encourages us to become more grounded. However, it’s also essential to realize your mistakes and apologize for them. But sometimes your little mistake can ruin everything. No matter how sorry you are or how good you are, that mistake remains with you forever.
Some mistakes take you on a guilt trip while some happen to bother you from time to time. Although people might forgive you for some of these mistakes, it still haunts you for the remainder of your lives. In contrast, some people continuously remind you of that one mistake you did, no matter how good you’ve been to them before.
Call it human psychology or human nature, but sometimes a mistake can ruin everything. That’s why it’s better to stay careful than to commit a mistake that would cost you losing a person.
However, there are two types of mistakes, intentional and unintentional. Intentional mistakes carry a motive behind it. For instance, revealing secrets about your friend to another friend when they clearly instructed you not to or doing the same thing behind someone’s back when they clearly told you not to.
Unintentional mistakes are spontaneous. They just happen, and sometimes you’re not even aware of making these mistakes. For instance, calling someone names for the sake of fun but not knowing its consequences. The other person whom you have called names might seem to enjoy it with you, but you never know, they might be overthinking about it once they’re not around you any longer.
There are all sorts of unintentional and intentional mistakes happening around in your homes, workplaces, gatherings, and everywhere else. But mistakes are mistakes. You learn from them and move one. Just don’t let these mistakes take you on a guilt trip over and over again.
However, there are a few mistakes in life that aren’t prone to forgiveness i.e., hurting someone physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. A mistake like this can ruin someone’s life or ruin everything for you.
That’s why it’s vital to avoid such mistakes or realize it before it’s too late. Don’t think that if you’re a good person, you can’t commit any mistakes. Sometimes one mistake is sufficient to make you a bad person in another person’s eye.
Therefore, apologize for your mistakes if needed, learn from them, and become a better person than before. Leave past in the past and work on improving yourself. This might help you make peace with yourself and with the person who broke your heart or whose heart you had broken in the past.
Summary
Accepting mistakes is a sign of bravery, and asking for forgiveness is a sign of a good heart. If you’re brave and have a good heart, you wouldn’t give up easily. You would own your mistakes because you know even if it doesn’t work well for now- it would definitely work wonders for you later on.
