In an outrage that seems to have affected the majority of users, Facebook, Instagram and Whatsapp are no longer working.

The outrage, which seems to have taken place at around 9 p.m., got three out of the four major social media apps down.

Whastapp saw the maximum number of reports on Down Detector, followed by Instagram with Instagram at the last (as of 9:30 p.m.). These numbers don’t represent the number of people that experienced the outage.

As of 9:30, 5,042 users reported Whatsapp as being down, 2,291 reported Instagram and around 2,000 did so for Facebook on Down Detector.

However, it is speculated that this outage is throughout Pakistan.

Whatsapp can no longer send or receive messages. Other features like voice calling, video calling and status uploads are down as well. Assessing the sites is giving a typing error just like doing so with Facebook is.

Instagram is facing the same issue. The app opens for the users, but the feed doesn’t refresh, DM’s cannot be sent or received and stories cannot be updated.

Trying to assess the sites gives a 5xx server error.

As far as Facebook is concerned, the site isn’t opening at all (giving a typing error as seen in the picture below). The app is opening but isn’t working at all.

As all these three platforms are integrated, they will be up and running together. A similar outage, that was seen back in March 2021, was fixed within an hour.

With top engineers of the world working at these tech giants, the issue will most likely be resolved in half an hour.
