We are living in 2020 and it seems like we are bounded by plastic terribly that it seems like there is no way out to a plastic free world. Seems impossible to live a life without plastic. You should know that plastic is one of the major elements that causes environmental pollution and contributes to the atmosphere becoming unhealthy for humans to live in. Now the main issue that seems to be growing is the increased plastic usage by the people. Plastic is becoming one of the most used things in our daily lives, and this usage keeps rising because of the amplified global population. Not only is plastic a great threat to our land but the ocean too, because the waste that has been thrown on the land eventually ends up in the streams, rivers, lakes and finally in the oceans.

This plastic pollution is most visible in the Asian and African countries where the garbage collecting systems are nearly nonexistent, and these nations haven’t developed any recycling waste procedures.

The main issue with plastic is that it does not deplete, and stays in the environment for hundreds of years and it ends up in the natural surroundings.

But if you really think that a plastic free world is unachievable, then you are wrong. Here are the super tips and tricks mentioned that you can follow and contribute your part in a healthy plastic free environment.

ZERO PLASTIC WAYS SOLUTIONS:

  • Say no to plastic produce bags.

Carry your stuff in reusable bags that do not contain plastic. Many people prefer to carry cloth bags (reusable tote bags) with them to the grocery store or where ever. I mean plastic bags are not that important nor are they that necessary.

  • Store your food in glass containers.

Whenever you bring home food or anything to be stored, store it in a glass container rather than a plastic box. Make sure that the glass box is washed well.

  • When visiting the grocery store, make sure you pick things that are plastic free.

  • Avoid buying bottled water.

Bottled water is the most unnecessary thing that we buy too much. We think that bottled water is more nutritious but hey, we are wrong. They just sell unnecessary plastic that’s all. You can purchase those stainless steel water bottles.

  • When you visit any restaurant or order take away, make sure you ask them to use non-plastic products plus no plastic straw. Or if you’re at a coffee shop ask to give you coffee in your own reusable cup.
  • Avoid snacks or food wrapped in plastic, rather use those paper envelopes. They work even better.
  • Cut on those plastic bottled beverages.

They really are the source of plastic waste. We buy them too much and dump them into the waste. Instead buy glass bottle beverages. And when storing milk in the fridge store it in those glass bottles.

  • While purchasing cosmetics, go for the plastic free ones with natural products.
  • Avoid wrapping gifts in those plastic sheets rather make your own news paper wraps, they look cool and making them is fun too.
  • Switch to those bar soaps instead of the liquid soaps because the liquid soap comes in plastic bottles and results in more waste.
  • Use bamboo cutlery.

When we are on the go or traveling we usually need disposable products and most are made of plastic and to avoid that we can use bamboo cutlery.

  • With that being said we can also replace our toothbrushes with bamboo toothbrushes.
  • Store your shampoo and conditioners in glass bottles.
  • Use paper cotton swabs rather than those with the plastic sticks.
  • While craving for ice-cream go for the cone ice creams rather than the cup ones.
