They support all types of equality, especially racial equality. They’re also tens of millions strong in America. They’re Gen Z and they’re making a mark on the world as they come of age and buy with their leaning towards tech savviness. They wield USD 360 billion in spending power collectively. So, it’s time to explore if they’re really a silent generation or if they’re using their tech savviness to change the world in profound and revolutionary ways.

Who Is Gen Z?

They were the first generation to be exposed to technological devices in nearly every aspect of their lives. Only Generation Alpha grew up even more immersed in technology. They entered grade school when smartphones were becoming popular. That grew into an immersion in technology when wearable devices, virtual assistants, and other disruptive tech became mainstream.

Naturally, they’re embracing the latest AI tools like Chatgpt wholeheartedly. Already almost 2/3 of them use AI tools in their daily lives, whether it’s creating social media posts or AI also helps them simplify tasks. Examples include checking code and planning vacations and other trips.

What is Important to Gen Z?

Gen Z is very passionate about social and environmental causes. They aren’t afraid to voice their opinions either. However, unlike the Baby Boomers, they are resorting to social media platforms and the Net to do so. They aren’t staging violent sit-ins at major educational institutions.

53% of Gen Zers support brands that spread and support mental health awareness. The environment, gender, and racial equality causes come in second and third places respectively in this regard. They also support equal rights with regard to gender orientation.

However, they’re either teens or cash-strapped adults beginning their careers, so they’re money-conscious. These values are echoed in their shopping preferences and habits. They prefer to buy items secondhand. So, thrifting is big with them. 61% of Gen Zers will search for secondhand items before they look for new versions in department and retail stores.

Gen Z is Truly Different

Gen Z wants to make their mark in a silent way. That’s why they’re truly different.
