Get Ready for Gen Beta!

If you have never heard of Gen Beta, it’s because they are either less than a year old or are still in their mom’s tummies. Gen Beta is the cohort born between 2025 and 2039. If you guessed that they will be even more technologically and digitally immersed than today’s tech-savvy Gen Z and Alpha, you are right. Gen Beta will live at a strategic time in history and will make its mark on the world like no other generation has. It’s time to explore what Gen Beta will be like.

What Will Make History’s Most Strategic Generation Tick?

About one in 7, or 16% of the population will be Gen Betas by 2035. Most of their parents will be older Gen Zs and even some very young Millennials. Additionally, most Gen Betas and many Gen Alphas will be alive in the 22nd century. Gens Alpha and Beta receive their names because they will be the first cohorts to be raised in a brave new world — a digitally and technologically immersed world that exists in the era of the Information Age and the Digital Revolution.

Gen Beta, unlike Gen Alpha, will be born into an era of AI technologies. Sure, Gen Alpha was very young when the AI revolution started, so it can easily adapt to these complex technologies, but Gen Beta will be fully immersed in these technologies and will participate in their growing complexity as they transform entire socieieties and lifestyles. So, they will use them as naturally as Gen Alpha does smartphones.

Gen Beta will drive self-driving cars when they are old enough to get their drivers’ licenses. They will wear watches and devices that are even more advanced than today’s FitBits. Additionally, they may well live their entire lives in something similar to the Metaverse or some other Virtual Reality technology. AI algorithms will influence how they shop, live, work, what they wear, eat, and much more through strong, personalized suggestions.

There may be a real change with the way Gen Beta parents raise their kids. They may actively try to limit the kids’ screen time and encourage more physical activity, given all of the emerging research indicating that excessive screen time is bad for young kids’ growing minds and bodies. Expect Millennial and Gen Z parents to use digital devices as educational tools for their kids to make learning fun and more impactful.

What Will Gen Beta Have to Deal With?

Gen Beta will be dealt with many challenges. They will be similar to Gen Alpha’s challenges, except, perhaps more acute. Beaters will navigate around rapidly declining global birth rates, a rapidly aging global population, the global decline of the extended family and the institution of the family, rising consumerism and individualism, relentless inflation, rapid urbanization, and continued environmental decay.

Their beliefs will be a reflection of their upbringing, which will empahasize ethnic, gender, racial, and religious equality, the ability to adapt quickly to challenging situations, and eco-consciousness. So, Gen Beta may well be the most globally-minded, community-focused, and eco-aware generation ever! They will also understand the concept of teamwork like no other previous generation.

They Will Worship Social Media

Gen Z, Alpha, and even Millennials already live by social media, so you may be wondering why this is a big deal. The issue is that Gen Beta will take this one step further. Sure, they may be more detached from the traditional concept of the family, but that concept may be much more irrelevant in a digitally connected and globalized world that’s increasingly run by AI.

They will enthusiastically connect with the global family. They already believe in innovation, and global social connections will allow them to find creative and innovative solutions to the world’s most pressing issues and problems.

Gen Beta Will be a Truly Unique Generation

They say that all generations are unique and innovative, but since all Gen Beta members will be born during a time of great social change during the 21st century, they will be genuinely individualistic and creative thinkers. They will be unlike any generation that has existed since the dawn of human civilization because they will have been born in a completely different environment.
