3. “#ShareACoke” by Coca-Cola
Although I do not encourage the promotion of brands that pose health risks, we can certainly learn a lesson or two in marketing from the #shareacoke campaign. This campaign encouraged people to share with friends and family and have a personalized experience with their names on a bottle. In other words, they connected with consumers on a personal level. This campaign turned out to be a massive success for Coca-Cola. They achieved 25 million new Facebook followers and 18,300,000-plus media impressions.
4. “#Fantographer” Campaign by Applebees
Applebees is a well-known restaurant chain. This brand used a simple yet effective marketing technique. They called out all the Instagrammers to share pictures of their meals with the tag #Fantographer. Food-related content is already very popular on Instagram and user-generated content is always a good idea, hence this campaign ended up being a remarkable success. #Fantographer gained an average engagement rate increase of 25% and a 500% increase in followers.
