When my father and I went deer hunting and looked for a good spot, he usually stressed two things: he said, “Hunt where you know deer and sit where you see.”
Good advice for me during my hunt in the state forest. If you can’t cover a lot of ground and don’t have a good chance of seeing the deer move, you may have a long day.
If you are looking for wood, however, and want to score the trophy, there are a few other local variables to consider before entering the wood.
Before I get too busy building my wooden base, I need to be in an area where deer often come first. While many “deer” are eligible, few appear to exhibit regular deer activity.
Scraping and scraping is obviously exciting but also looking for dung and tracks on wild trails that lead to places to hang out, eat and go back.
If an old table and a new table are found together on the street, you are given the security you need when you sit on a wooden pedestal for several hours and nothing moves, but you know the deer are using the area.
Reeds are also sometimes found, which is a good sign that deer are eating there.

When it is sunny and the deer are moving, the position of the wooden supports should not be underestimated and should always be planned correctly.

Old sign
Once you’ve found the perfect spot for a suitable cavity, be aware that attractions and food sources play a huge role in deer hiking. If this is not changed by external forces such as interventions, they will remain in the same region for generations. A great way to confirm this is to pay close attention when testing.
Older deer (usually teal) can tell you that there is a mating activity in the area – and if you’re lucky, there’s huge genetics to be found. When we got into the new deer rental we were able to confirm the correct areas by finding many old friction lines.
The Water
Deer, like humans, cannot live long without water. It is very suitable to have a small stream or pond blocked, especially if it is leaking and cooling. Deer like to have a place to drink without straying too far from their shelters and restaurants.
For example, our lease has a large stream near the property, which also runs several streams.
As a result, the canal area we rent is one of the stand’s best hunting grounds.
To Eat
Proper arrangement of lumber stocks means finding areas with good deciduous forests such as white and red acorns, hickory, beech, or neighboring farms.
Proper arrangement of lumber stocks means finding areas with good hardwoods such as white and red acorns, hickory, beech, or nearby farms.
Of course, if you have some food, that’s fine. Deer also prefer trees and look for tree stands such as maple, white cedar, sumac, white pine, ash, beech, and elm, as well as black currant, honeysuckle, shrub, golden twig, ragweed, azalea, willow, mushroom, and many more.
Not all of these foods are found in all regions, but they don’t have to be – find out what kind of food deer use when hunting.
Ceiling
Think about the standing position and how important each leg is to get up; one third of the deer looks like the ceiling, the other two are food and water. Dense cedar wood, shrubs, freshly cut and overgrown areas with lots of grass and young trees are good distribution areas for deer.
Our lease is owned by a forestry company and is largely controlled by lumber. This creates large charged areas that were released many years ago and can naturally grow back.
We use some of these open spaces for eating; others are wonderful deer with many of you inside and out.
In some cases, it may not be possible to modify the trees for which suitable lumber is being sought, but if possible, trees that are too commercial or non-commercial can be “hung” to improve the habitat.
Fold or cut small trees (up to six inches in diameter) in half so that they can drop (about three to four feet tall) but continue to grow.
They provide plenty of new deer to eat and make a great cover. If you can protect yourself around you, you are sure to attract money.
Loneliness
When all the items already listed are far from most hunters, they will be more attractive to deer. Even if they take a little more disruption than a lot of money, everyone likes to take to the streets.
This means that many huge dollars have died in old age in small pieces of trees in the streets or in the suburbs that are never occupied by hunters or people.
Also, look for escape routes that use deer in and out of the remote area, as well as anything that guides deer movement, such as fallen trees, slabs, gardens, streams, ditches, or small groups between fields.
The Prevailing Winds
When positioning the stands, make adequate wind measurements (for example, use one of the many buyers on the market or a small pencil) and take into account the prevailing wind. It is a good idea to have one or more backups when the wind changes.
You always have a spring breeze where you can expect deer depending on the cover, food and landscape.
Log into
I remember first looking for a tripod. To get to the tree, I had to pull myself up from a small hill and use a small plant. Two similar things happened to me later that morning.
When I arrived in the morning I was wearing rubber bands and gloves, but the deer was immediately warned of something he didn’t like when he crossed my path. In fact, they smoked until the seedling was taken; then their tails rose and flew away.
Don’t underestimate the power of your nose. Hence, it is important to know how to get in and out of your inbox. I like to use the old streets where people sometimes cross or look at a small stream.
For example, on a rental, we plan to break a small path into a very deep dry stream that runs behind one of our grocery stores. We worked hard to get on and off the forest floor without warning the deer that they were present.
Anything you can do to warn the deer is very important, especially if you plan to hunt a lot in the area. It is important not only to know the wildlife corridors and their beds/feeding areas but also to stay away from these areas until you are ready to hunt.
